Torrbollen

Pour the liquid down the drain. This does not pose an environmental risk. Preferably avoid liquid contact with metal as there is a risk of rusting if it is not rinsed off.

It all depends on how humid it is and how big your refill bag is. In general, one can say that a refill bag of 450 grams is enough for 1-3 months in a space of 12-14m². This can vary depending on the size of the moisture absorber you use, location and the surface and area of the space.

Torrbollen moisture absorber works right down to 0°C, but at freezing temperatures the function ceases because there is no moisture. When it gets back up to plus degrees, Torrbollen starts again to devour moisture.

Once the flakes in the fiber cloth bag are saturated with water and the moisture in a space ceases, they solidify and dry together and the bag becomes hard. When the moisture returns, the process starts again and the flakes turn into liquid and flow into the container. You therefore do not have to throw away your bag if its contents have solidified.

The product contains calcium chloride 75-99 %. CAS 10043-52-4, EC no. 233-140-8. Causes serious corrosive damage to skin and eyes. In case of contact with eyes, rinse with plenty of water for several minutes. Seek medical attention.

Sharkbite

Most plastic covers on outboards and rigs are painted and then it is no problem to use Sharkbite Barnacle remover, but some rigs are untreated at the waterline and made of molded soft plastic, for example Mercury Verados. These do not withstand any form of acid when cleaning at all. This therefore applies to all agents with acid, regardless of make. A reaction can occur which, in the worst case, causes discolouration, bleaching or ugly marks in the plastic if an agent containing any kind of acid is left on for too long or is not rinsed off very thoroughly. Mercury recommends mechanical cleaning only with a light polishing detergent. You can read more about this in Mercury’s instruction manuals. If you are unsure about your plastic cover, contact your motor or drive supplier.

Sharkbite Barnacle Remover is an incredibly effective aid for dissolving scale in shells and barnacles. With its modified acid, it is kinder to the user and the environment than any other competitor. To do the job, some form of acid is required. There is no other way, unless you do it completely mechanically by scraping, scrubbing, grinding and polishing.

Sharkbite works on all boats and drives. Gelcoat, wood, steel and even on aluminum, (although one must always be careful with acid on aluminum and test on a small area first). As a rule, there are never any problems with outboards and drives, as there are lacquered surfaces on pretty much all of them, and then cleaning with acid is excellent.

When it comes to Mercury Verado, it has the die-casted untreated soft plastic hoods at the waterline. These do not tolerate any form of acid when cleaning. This applies to all agents with acid, regardless of brand. Mercury only recommends mechanical cleaning with polishing detergents. More information on this can be found in Mercury’s instructions manual. A reaction may occur which in the worst case can cause discoloration, bleaching or ugly marks in the plastic if any product containing acid is used and left for too long or is not rinsed of thoroughly.

To the question regarding Sharkbite’s impact on RIB or inflatable boats, we can unfortunately not give a brief answer, but we will try to explain: There are different types of PVC, plastic and rubber that are often used on inflatable and RIB boats. The character of the material determines whether Sharkbite affects it or not. As a rule, Sharkbite does not affect inflatables / PVC. Theoretically, some soft moldings and gaskets would be affected if you forgot to rinse properly, but we have never experienced it. We have washed a lot of RIB, PVC, and cheaper inflatable boats with Sharkbite without any problems and we have never heard of anyone having any problems. All our lab tests show that it is okey to use Sharkbite on Rubber and PVC if you rinse thoroughly afterwards. For safety reasons, you should always test on a small area first, and make sure to rinse the product thoroughly so that it does not stay and “bite” on your boat.

Your question regarding Sharkbite on aluminum, gears, bellows etc. is legitimate. Since we are talking about so many different types of metals, plastics, and other materials. We have used Sharkbite and cleaned many gears and aluminum boats with a brilliant result. Sharkbite works excellently and does the job on gelcoat, metals, and other surfaces. However, be careful when it comes to untreated plastics and galvanized metal. The product is acidic and thus corrosive. Therefore, some untreated plastics may react with unwanted ugly marks and aluminum alloys may assume a different luster / color / shift afterwards. If you use Sharkbite Barnacle Remover or another shell remover on untreated plastics or galvanized surfaces, there may be reactions and discoloration in the surface layer. This applies to all agents with acid, regardless of brand.

Ordinary seawater, lake and polluted / acid rainwater also affects the surface layer of aluminum, it is a chemical reaction although it is a slower process. Our experience of working with Sharkbite on aluminum and other metal is that you must be careful to rinse the product off when you are done. If you do not rinse properly, the product can in the long run, for example over the winter, cause oxidation and maybe even corrosion on metal. If you rinse off the product when the job is done, nothing happens to the metal. The same rule applies to plastic, rubber, silicone, and similar materials, (the bellows). As usual, you should test on a small area first to see how fast it goes, and how to best work with Sharkbite. If you are unsure, contact your engine or trailer supplier.

There are as many aluminum alloys as there are aluminum boat manufacturers. Therefore, we cannot say with certainty what your metal will look like when you are done. It will be clean and look new but might adopt a color / shade you haven’t seen before. This color or shade will matt of after a few weeks and the metal returns to a slightly duller shade. You will see this phenomenon on any surface you choose to test. It is reminiscent of an aluminum polish. So, there is no need to worry, and you can be safe with your Sharkbite Barnacle Remover if you rinse off the product when you are done. We always recommend testing on a small area first to see what happens, so you won’t be surprised.

We have cleaned some bronze propellers with Sharkbite and have gotten an excellent result. Sharkbite does not corrode on the metal more than on any other surface, bronze can however assume a different luster, color or shift afterwards. Ordinary seawater, lake and polluted / acid rainwater also affects bronze, and starts a chemical reaction although it is a slower process. You may be pedantic and sensitive to a possible shift in the character and luster of the metal? With Sharkbite, it can be experienced as if it became “too much of a good thing”. You should therefore test on a small area first, then evaluate the result before you start.

No, that’s not okay. Your Sharkbite should be stored warm, not colder than + 10 ° C. Should you happen to forget it out in the cold, the active substance will crystallize, and it will not be as potent as before. In addition, a small crystal may clog / clog the tube of the trigger on the spray bottle.

Your question about whether Sharkbite removes the primer is easy to answer. The answer is no. Sharkbite does not affect the base color. Both lab tests and our experience say so. In no single case have we heard of Sharkbite affecting, removing, or otherwise damaging any primer. There are a lot of different types of primers, abrasive and different types of poison, techniques etc. Any “runs” of old wax, boat shampoo or other soap solutions that are then rinsed off with high pressure could remove or impair the effect on some types of primers, especially the abrasives are sensitive to this. If you have used Sharkbite before the shampoo, you may a little hastily conclude that it is due to Sharkbite, but this is not the case. As always, be sure to rinse off the product so that it does not lie and “bite” over time. We also recommend that you test on a small surface first. So, you see what happens and won’t be surprised.

Regarding whether Sharkbite products that runs down or otherwise comes in contact with your trailer is justified. A trailer consists of a lot of different types of metals and other materials. We have used Sharkbite on many boats that where on a trailer. Depending on the type of trailer and whether it is a lacquered surface or not, it reacts differently. In some cases, nothing is visible, in other cases a different luster / color / shift is seen afterwards. The active substance is acidic and thus corrosive. Ordinary seawater and acid rainwater also affects the metal on the trailer, it is a chemical reaction although it is a slower process. We usually make sure to rinse off the product even from the trailer when we are done with the boat. If you do not rinse properly, the product can in the long run, e.g., over the winter, cause oxidation and perhaps even corrosion on metal. If you rinse off the product when the job is done, nothing happens to the metal except a possible change in color on the surface. The same rule applies to other materials you find on a trailer, such as. plastic and rubber. NOTE! As usual with all chemical cleaning, you should test on a small area first. Then you see what happens and will not be surprised. If you use Sharkbite Barnacle Remover on untreated galvanized surfaces, there may be reactions and discoloration in the surface layer.

Sharkbite is good for the environment considering that it is based on the same acid that is found naturally in rhubarbs, it is water-soluble and thus quickly biodegradable. Sharkbite does not negatively affect the environment over time. Should you use the product so that it flows down to the lawn, then the grass would partially die, but grow back quickly.

Yes, it can, both on the hull, drive, and propeller. Thanks to the spray function, it reaches where you otherwise wouldn’t have. The product works excellent and does the job on barnacles no matter what substrate. The suction cup, or “ring”, which often remains, is a little harder to get rid of, but it’s usually possible to get rid of if you spray a second time. It is important to remember that the effect is twice as good if you spray on dry barnacle, and if the surfaces’ temperature is higher.

As usual when cleaning with chemicals, we recommend that you start by testing on a small surface first. Then you see what happens and will not be surprised. Wash the boat and the exposed areas with the high-pressure cleaner to remove vegetation and loose barnacles. Then let the boat and the shells dry. Spray on one area at a time and preferably directly on dry shells to avoid dilution. Give it 3-5 minutes depending on the result you see. Then scrub / scrape a lightly and finish with a thorough rinse. Let the boat dry and repeat the procedure again if there are any residues of barnacles or Sharkbite left. If you are not satisfied with the result, it may be due to the outdoor temperature. The colder the temperature, the more time is required for a reaction to melt or dissolve a barnacle. You may then need to leave the product to work for a few extra minutes. When you are done, rinse thoroughly with water.

Your question about whether Sharkbite removes a dirty or discolored waterline on the pool is a bit difficult to answer in general because the material of the liners varies a lot between different pools (rubber liner / fiberglass / plastic / tile). We have used Sharkbite to remove the brown coating / discoloration in the waterline of the whirlpool and pool with rubber liners. Some boat owners, who also happen to be pool owners, have successfully tested the product on their pool and told us. If you are going to use the product on the waterline in a filled pool, the following applies: Work on a small area at a time, e.g., two meters. Give it three minutes and scrub a little lightly, if it doesn’t work then give it three more minutes, etc. Make sure that the material does not fade if it is rubber liner. For safety, you should test on a small part first. Make sure to rinse off the product so that it does not lie and “bite” on your pool side.

Yes, you can. Note that the product is not specifically made for bathrooms, but it is certainly possible to dissolve lime with Sharkbite. Both Sharkbite Waterline Cleaner and Sharkbite Barnacle Remover dissolves lime. The latter more aggressively. Be careful with ventilation and work with one small area at a time. For best results, work with warm water to heat the tile. That will make the reaction faster. As always, test on a small surface first, and then make sure to rinse off the product so that it does not lie and “bite” over time unnecessarily.

IS-FRITT

IS-FRITT is effective all the way down to -50 degrees and counteracts re-freezing and the effect lasts for a long time.

IS-FRITT consists of pure calcium chloride and contains no additives that can harm animals or plants.

The product has a high pH value of 9.5.

Yes IS-FRITT is safe to use. It does not leave any stains.

IS-FRITT differentiates considerably from ordinary road salt or thaw salt. It is more efficient and has a faster effect. This is due to the active ingredient of pure, highly concentrated calcium chloride. This means that IS-FRITT also works excellently for dust binding of, for example, roads, gravel paths and outdoor tracks during the summer.

Luftrenare

Torrbollen Luftrenare prevents the emergence of bacteria and mold and is packaged in an airtight plastic cylinder. It has a perforated inner seal. When the can is opened and comes into contact with air, the antiseptic characteristics of the oil are released and will slowly evaporate.

The benefit of Torrbollen Luftrenare is that it can be placed anywhere as long as it is on a flat surface.

The gel is usually active for 60-90 days, but also has a preventive effect for up to 45 days after the container is empty and the contents have evaporated. After that, it is recommended to invest in a new Luftrenare to continue the process.

For best effect use according to the following:

  • Shock effect (2-3 days): open the container and remove the “STOP ODOR” mark completely.
  • Standard  effect (up to 30 days): open the container but leave the “STOP ODOR” mark on.
  • Maintenance (up to 90 days): open the container but leave the “STOP ODOR” mark on after the air has been purified.

While Torrbollen Luftrenare is active, the air is perceived as clean. There is no added fragrance or smell. No hiding effect and no perfumes, just fresh and clean air. The benefits of the product compared to other brands is that it attacks and neutralizes the bacteria that causes the bad smell instead of hiding them with chemical additives.

Torrbollen Luftrenare is designed to do the job in several places. Here are some suggestions:

  • In the home, it provides a better indoor climate. Place it in rooms that are perceived to smell bad. Luftrenare neutralizes the smell and increases the feeling of well-being. Place your air purifier in the tech room, the laundry room or the ventilation space, for example.
  • To take care of your winter-stored car and protect it from bad smells and mold, the air purifier is optimal. You place it where it is flat to keep bad odors away.
  • Avoid mold smells and trapped odors in your boat with the help of Torrbollen Luftrenare.
  • Torrbollen Luftrenare effectively removes unwanted pet odors in the home without them being affected.
  • Sweat and body odors can be effectively neutralized with the help of Torrbollen Luftrenare. Place it where you hang your training clothes or store your smelly shoes.
  • In ventilation systems and air conditioning, Torrbollen Luftrenare prevents the emergence of bacteria and mold.
